Meet the Founder
Andrea Ferguson
Founder and CEO of The F.I.T. LIFE Method |F.I.T. Mindset Mentor and Coach
I've spent much of my life chasing and achieving goals, hustling hard, pushing, striving and driving to get ahead. I continuously sought to maximize my potential, to perform my best and to create something meaningful. I've been successful.
I've spent more than a decade working with thousands of women in the health and fitness arena as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, Fitness Studio Owner, Life Coach and Mentor. I created, built and sold a fitness studio and fitness business. I've designed, created and run many programs, workshops, multi day events and retreats. I've also developed an entire method and an accompanying 2 year curriculum plus mastery program to facilitate my work as a life mentor and coach.
I know self discipline, determination, perseverance, commitment and how to act in spite of fear, I know self-discipline, determination, perseverance, commitment and how to act in spite of fear. I know how to make things happen and how to be strong, independent and confident. I know what it takes to achieve.
While these traits enabled me to grow a beautiful heart centered business, these are also the traits that took me down, when I didn’t know how to balance them. They led to burnout, depletion and soul exhaustion. They even challenged some of my relationships. My greatest strengths have also been my greatest weakness.
In the way that it so often does, life had an uncanny way of showing me that there was a whole other side to life that I was missing. Through burnout, exhaustion and the fallout that followed, I learned the art of surrender. I began to recognize my hustle for what it really was and began the process of shedding my armour and reconnecting to the core of who I am, not who I had become in order to feel enough.
In this beautiful unfolding, I discovered the courage to listen to and follow my heart even when it felt terrifying and like everything was at stake. I learned to design and live a life that I love, that is meaningful and purpose-filled and has time and space for what matters most to me. I've learned to let go of what I think I should want and who I think I should be based on influences outside of me and I've learned to allow what is meant to be, be. This is freedom.
I find joy in simplicity now and have time in my life to simply just be. I'm no longer busy and moving all the time and I enjoy this guilt free. I spend my energy and my time very consciously and carefully, it's one of the greatest lessons I've learned. I find such joy and pleasure in seeing all the beautiful synchronicities and miracles that are happening all the time in life that you only see when you slow down enough to notice.
I show up better in my relationships with others, with my 2 kids, with my husband and especially with myself. I value deep and meaningful connections, authenticity, grace and inspired conversations.
I have learned that I can find peace, joy and freedom even in chaos and that my outer life conditions are simply signposts guiding me to get clear on what's true and real.
My constant low grade anxiety is gone.
The need to prove myself is gone.
That gnawing feeling inside that I couldn't quite explain and could never quite quench, no matter what I achieved, is gone.
I now know how to keep my achiever hustle in check. I also know that peace and freedom are found by living connected to my heart, aligned with love, fueled by joy and through passionately living my purpose. And I'm here to help others walk this path so that they too can connect to and experience the freedom that is waiting within, that is revealed through the practice of connection.
